Bakbakan Int.

Bakbakan is a fraternity of martial artists, with its headquarters located in the Philippines. The mandate of Bakbakan Int. is to promote, preserve and develop the Warrior arts of the Philippines

Bakbakan weapon system has as its basis the Kali system of Grandmaster Antonio Illustrisimo. Now referred to as Bakbakan Kali Illustrisimo, to identify the system developed and structured by Bakbakan on the basis of Grandmaster Illustrisimo’s concepts and strategy.
It is the structure and unique training methods that differentiate the Bakbakan kali Illustrisimo practitioner from other Kali claimants.
Within Bakbakan is the Tulisan Knife fighting system. The system is based more on basic knife fighting techniques and constant sparring to refine and redefine its concepts and strategies, instead on relying on memorized pre-planned drills.

Bakbakan Kali emphasizes the edged weapon origin of the art.
It deals with the dynamic demands of combat in the simplest, most efficient and effective terms. Bakbakan Kali techniques are structured to handle any armed and unarmed engagement through multiple levels of attack and counter attack. It emphasizes versatility and adaptability in swiftly changing and switching between defensive and aggressive techniques.
